MSI Completes SAS 70 Type ll Review
to Validate Secured Data Management and Processing Procedures

OKLAHOMA CITY – Myriad Systems, Inc. (MSI), an advanced developer
and provider of transaction, document and item processing technology, announced
completion of a Statement of Accounting Standard No. 70 (SAS 70) Type II Review.
SAS 70 Type II is an internationally recognized auditing standard developed by the
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) that defines the professional
standards used by a service auditor to assess the internal controls of a service
organization and issue a service auditor's report.
“Undergoing a SAS 70 Type II examination was important for MSI to validate
for our customers our commitment to reaching and maintaining the highest standards
in examining our control objectives and control activities in the arena of data
processing,” noted Shaun Riney, MSI President. “Today's global economy
demands service providers demonstrate that they have adequate controls and safeguards
when they host or process data belonging to their customers.”
A formal report including the auditor's opinion ("Service Auditor's Report")
was issued to MSI at the conclusion of a SAS 70 Type II examination on April 2006.
MSI underwent an in-depth audit of its procedures and general controls. The systems
and processes evaluated included security monitoring, change management, problem
management, back up & environmental controls, and local & physical access.
SAS 70 Type II verified thSAS 70 Type II verified that MSI client information is safeguarded, and
databases are protected from disaster, fraud and tampering. MSI customers will
have the benefit of receiving a detailed description of the company’s controls,
including an independent assessment of design, placement and efficiency.
