Unisys Character Recognition Software (SoftCAR + Diamond) is a standard feature for automatically recognatizing amounts from scanned checks within MSI's online payment solutions suite. Running invisibly behind the scenes, SoftCAR + enables a high percentage of check amounts (hand or machine printed) to be entered from the scanned check images without human intervention.

MSI takes advantage of multiple Courtesy Amount Recognition (CAR) engines, Legal Amount Recognition (LAR) engines and high-resolution gray scale and bitonal images of the scanned item to provide a high level of performance.

This ability enables significant labor reductions and increases processing efficiencies. Work is completed faster and at a higher accuracy level.
